In the Park©
Double reed trio:
Oboes and bassoon
Movement 1: "Hide and Seek"
In the Park: Movement I - "Hide and Seek" is a trio for
two oboes and bassoon.
I composed a
three movement piece for double reed trio during my
senior year in college and played it on my senior
recital. This recording is the first movement, Hide and
Seek. The other two movements not heard are "The Old
Oak Tree" and "Catching Crickets." |
Barn Dancin'©
Piano duet
This piano duet is for 4 hands. It was written in honor
of my sister's graduation from high school. It is a
lively, fun piece and was played by a friend and myself
just for Jennifer.

AHS Alma Mater©
Band and Chorus
This piece was first performed by Apalachee High School
combined bands and the AHS Chorus in May 2001 at AHS;
Mr. Matt Fuller, band director. Not only was it an
honor for me to conduct the combined bands in the
premier performance of the AHS Alma Mater, it was an
honor to have been able to work with Matt Fuller and his
colleagues during my tenure as a student teacher at AHS.
The cooperative relationship of faculty, students, and
administration was instrumental in endowing AHS with its
very own Alma Mater. The highly talented students who
make up the music program at AHS are to be commended for
their hard work and dedication to their Alma Mater.
AHS, in its first year, is truly an exemplary high
school. Parents and others in Barrow County Georgia are
justified in their pride.

Orchestra
This piece was
performed by the Augusta Symphony on March 11, 2001 at
the Performing Arts Theatre at Augusta State University
in Augusta, Georgia. I am grateful to the director, Dr.
Donald Portnoy, for including the composition in the
3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon concert. A native of
Philadelphia, Dr. Portnoy is a graduate of The Juilliard
School. He received a Master of Arts degree from The
Catholic University of America and a D.M.A. from Peabody
Conservatory. For many years he was music director and
conductor of the Pittsburgh Opera Theater and the
Pittsburgh Civic Symphony, and conducted for the
Hollybush Opera, Pittsburgh Chamber Opera, and the
Columbia Lyric Opera.
